This size of bed doesn’t have to be minimal in design or comfort. One of the manufacturers we work with Nomad Furniture has developed a series of beds with headboards as well as a cot size daybed series. These beds incorporate a slat support system and are also available with customizable options that can increase the height of the headboard or designed for more space beneath the bed. Optional bed drawers on castors can be ordered which are independent of the bed system and simply roll beneath the beds. Our local mattress manufacturer has also designed a comfortable daily use 8 in. high density foam mattress for these beds so that individuals don’t have to sacrifice comfort by having a premium mattress option.
While there are also really beautiful metal headboards that you can get, the major disadvantage of buying a metal headboard is that you’re often compromising comfort and style, because they are too uncomfortable to lay against. With wood headboards, however, you can watch TV, read a book or other things you need to be lying up in bed a lot at ease.
Wood headboards can be either traditional or contemporary because there are a wide variety of wood types which they are made from: teak, mahogany, cherry, oak, maple, walnut, birch, cherry, and pine. Whatever new materials introduced to the designer world, wood is still a popular choice as the most common material in the furniture design. The natural characteristics of wood that are difficult or impossible to imitate as well as being very resistant.
