Why the wrap around headboard is good for a room with little space, such as a dorm or child’s room, is because its effect does not enlarge the space the bed already occupies. The room does not appear to be crowded or stifling. The fun colors available for fabric headboards - orange, lime green, sunshine yellow, and purple just to name a few - definitely give the room a personalized and fun look. If you are seeking a more conservative, reserved look for your room; you may want to consider using a "straight headboard flush" fabric headboard. If you would like to add a bit of flair to your headboard, look into button and pleating options.
Over the years I’ve spoken with a number of people about the need for a smaller than twin size bed. Often these individuals are trying to find something that can work for a cabin, for a small room or a tight space where typical beds just don’t seem to fit. Another need I’ve heard is to try and maximize the number of beds that can be placed into one room. The solution would be a bed size less wide than a standard twin but would have the same length and we refer to this in the industry as a cot size.
